Things to do in Baltimore this week 3/5/18

Hopefully you all survived the great windstorm of 2018. I’ve finished this a day early and set it to automatically post because I don’t know how I will actually be feeling right now after an evening at the Brewer’s Ball in DC. Hopefully I drank plenty of water. Anyways…. plenty going on this week. Lots of great theatre options again! I’ll be seeing Animal Farm at Center Stage on Friday! Also, have you noticed how many Drag Brunch options there are on Sunday now? Might have to partake of one! Baltimore’s St. Patrick Parade is on Sunday and I always go to see the Newfoundlands and the Mummers. Go have some fun!

This 24 sub-genre genealogical chart reveals the vast complex progeny of heavy metal–from Early Metal and Shock Rock to Thrash, from Progressive Metal to Grunge and Nu Metal. Before and after the movie, we will play a heavy dose of metal or in the case this week, pre-metal (hard rock), from that genre/time period. In addition to our normal drink specials, there will also be a themed drink for the night that corresponds with each episode. This month, our drink special will be: COLD GIN!

In order to create and maintain safe space, we ask that only those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community attend this event. Allies will be welcome to participate at other points in the process.
More about Peter Pan: This modern take on a childhood favorite will explore contemporary conversations on gender, sexuality, and performative identity and embrace queer culture. Neverland will be transformed from a distant fantasy to a modern safe-haven for those who have been rejected and devalued, a stronghold against normalcy and a place where Peter and his Lost Boys can finally be themselves. Artist and musician Lonnie Holley recorded his first album in 2012 when he was 62-years-old after making home recordings for more than two decades. Holley’s music, like his art, defies classification — haunting vocals, keyboards, and new renditions of songs with every performance. He’s here with a new band, playing new arrangements and new songs: you’ll only hear it once.
Paul Rucker, a visual artist, composer, and musician, who often combines media, integrating live performance, sound, original compositions, and visual art, will open the evening. His work is the product of a rich interactive process, through which he investigates community impacts, human rights issues, historical research, and basic human emotions surrounding particular subject matter.

The T.K.Blue Quartet Plays Amour
8PM & 9:30PM
An die Musik
409 N Charles St, Baltimore
““Amour” is my humble recognition and remembrance of a wonderful epoch in my life. Residing in Paris for close to a decade afforded many opportunities to grow and travel across the globe. I was extremely blessed to have many friends and extended family that reached out with arms of generosity. Acquiring a new language fostered growth beyond barriers of communication and permitted me to touch ground steep in the fecundity of love. I pray my musical offerings will reflect bonds of optimism and build bridges of mutual exchange, for we are ONE and LOVE is all!” – T.K. Blue
