Chastity Belt, Colleen Green, Which Magic + Purrer (new band! w Amanda Glasser)
Chastity Belt is a rock band consisting of four friends – guitarists Julia Shapiro and Lydia Lund, bassist Annie Truscott, and drummer Gretchen Grimm. They met in a tiny college town in Eastern Washington, but their story begins for real in Seattle, that celebrated home of Macklemore and the Twelfth Man. Following a post-grad summer apart, a handful of shows and enthusiastic responses from the city’s DIY community led them, as it has countless others, into a cramped practice space. They emerged with a debut album, No Regerts, sold it out faster than anyone involved thought possible, and toured America, a country that embraced them with open-ish arms. Now they’re back and the tab is settled, the lights are out, the birds are making noise even though the sun isn’t really up yet: it’s Time to Go Home, their second long-player and first for Hardly Art.

1310 Hillman St, Baltimore
Kombucha and Jun are both cultures of bacteria and yeast that convert sugared tea into delicious, fizzy, probiotic-rich sodas! We will be learning about the basics of fermenting with both in this class, but focusing on Jun. While kombucha generally feeds off of black tea and cane sugar, Jun likes green tea and honey. Therefore, it can make use of the benefits of local, raw honey. It also has a unique taste, often being a little more delicate and more fizzy than most kombucha.
In this intensive workshop, we will go through the process of making Jun, from brewing the tea to flavoring the finished product. Participants will be able to mix various wild fruits and herbs to create their own unique flavor in a bottle of already-fermented tea, which can be taken home to be carbonated. Jun mothers will also be provided for everyone to start their own production at home! cost $40 Buy tickets here

We’ll also have mobile refill stations and music to keep us pumped up!
Other things that are encouraged to bring include dogs, hula hoops, ribbon wands, and other fun things you can easily do while walking. Wear silly mouse ears, a clown costume, whatever you want!
