I don’t know about you guys but I am getting really tired of the back and forth with this weather. I just got back from the store in preparation for the expected snowfall. While everyone else was buying bread and milk I was stocking up on S’mores supplies. Being from the Midwest, the prediction of snow does not throw me into a survivalist frenzy. I really hate snow so lets hope it doesn’t actually happen. Nothing is worse than getting snowed in and missing out on all the fun happenings going on in Baltimore this week!

Writing for Change: Advocacy Happy Hour
6PM – 8PM
Modern Cook Shop
901 South Wolfe Street (at Thames Street), Baltimore
Join us for a social happy hour in Fells Point as we write postcards to our representatives in the state house, pressing them to act on behalf of the most vulnerable in our community. Several bills before the State Legislature stand to better the lives of Marylanders in need, but they need your vocal support to rise to the top of our legislators’ agenda before the session ends in April. The Catholic Charities Social Concerns team will help identify key bills and legislators that will need a push in the closing weeks of the session, as well as providing context for how these efforts could change the lives of the people served by Catholic Charities across the state. Bills we are watching include legislation on paid sick leave, EITC, child support payments, and reforms to the bail system. If you have blank postcards you would like to use, feel free to bring them! For questions and to RSVP, please email jkolanki@cc-md.org.

We will show the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland what a REAL pit bull looks and acts like- loyal friend, treasured companion, well-behaved family member. Plus it’s the perfect excuse to show off your dog’s favorite green sweater and collar or your pit bull gear! We’ll meet at Rash Field near the Rusty Scupper. All well-behaved dogs (and people) are welcome! You don’t have to have a pit bull, or even a dog to walk with us! PLEASE: ONE DOG per handler; NO retractable leashes; dogs over 8 months should be altered to attend. Your optional donation to B-More Dog helps support local spay/neuter and other programs.
