I’m ready for it to actually feel like Spring. This weather is toying with my emotions. If I see one more snowflake I’ll scream. Spring is my favorite time to be out and about in Baltimore. I love walking around the city. This week I’m wandering over to Puerto 511 Cocina Peruana to try out their new weekend menu and then hopefully checking out Out of Order. Light City 2018 – A Festival of Light, Music and Innovation is back for it’s 3rd year starting on Saturday. Let’s hope the weather is kind to it. If you haven’t been to Light City before, you need to check it out. I’m finally going to see I Love You, You’re Perfect, . . . Now Change at Spotlighter’s Theatre on Saturday. On Sunday I’m going to Points South Baltimore Drag Queen Brunch. It’s my first drag brunch in like 5 years so I’m super excited. So much to do, so much to see!

7:30PM – 8:30PM
The BIG Theater
1727 North Charles Street, Baltimore
It has been famously said that acting is “living truthfully under given imaginary circumstances.” Come watch our cast of talented improvisers adapt to the circumstances that you choose for them. Maybe they’re at an all-night diner reminiscing about old bank heists; maybe they’re a couple of teachers in the breakroom trying to wrap their heads around Pokemon and what it means to their students; maybe they just survived a near-death experience; maybe they’ve just made love for the first time. They won’t know what’s coming until you throw it their way, and then… well, then they’re just going to live truthfully. Acting!
“Shakespeare Out of the Park” is part of The BIG Lab – Every Wednesday night our comedy scientists take their newest experiments to the stage for further testing. The results may be explosive.

SHOW: When Improv Met Standup!
9PM – 10PM
The BIG Theater
1727 North Charles Street, Baltimore
It’s like When Harry Met Sally, minus Meg Ryan. Last week, several brave stand-ups showcased their comedy chops at our open mic. Now, a few of those stand-ups have been asked to share a car ride from Chicago to New York, wait, no, to present thier jokes a second time. This time, improvisers will expand on those jokes, embarrassing life experiences, and generally absurd observations to create a night so fun, it’ll be difficult for improv and stand-up to remain strictly platonic friends.

Oh! To Be A Movie Star!
7:30PM – 9PM
Germano’s Piattini and Cabaret at Germano’s
300 S High St, Baltimore
Christine’s fascination with movies and movie stars began because she was an obnoxious child who began reading early. Or because of parental neglect. You be the judge. She first became entranced with movie stars at the age of 4 after her mother dropped her off at the movie magazines aisle at grocery stores, where she would blissfully enjoy the gossip about which stars were in a “trial marriage,” whose actual marriages were on the rocks, and who was having a secret baby. Her mother also plunked her down in front of the TV most evenings. Those were the days of Monday Night at the Movies, Tuesday Night at the Movies, Wednesday, Thursday, etc. and she saw a wide variety of 40s and 50s films, dramas, comedies and musicals. Her cabaret show, “Oh, to be a movie star!” draws upon these early influences. Christine has collected songs over the years, not specifically from movies but about them and their now-legendary stars. The show features familiar music by Elton John and Andrew Lloyd Webber and more obscure songs by Leiber & Stoller and Christopher Berg. Oh, to be a Movie Star! is, at turns, funny, touching, and above all, a celebration of the cinematic art.

This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, ‘Say, what are you doing Saturday night?’ I Presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. The play’s tagline is “Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.” It is the second-longest running Off Broadway musical.
