My week is busy with Christmas preparation. I’m a little behind on my shopping list. On Thursday I’m attending a private dinner at Puerto 511 and it’s going to be AMAZING. I’ll be sure to share food photos. On Friday I’m throwing my company party, wish me luck! On Saturday I’m hitting up the 6th Annual Art Market to hopefully check some names off my shopping list. That evening I’m seeing The Rocky Horror Show – Live! at Baltimore Theatre Project. What could be more fun than a Christmas themed Rocky Horror? On Sunday I’m going to the Greater Goods Market: Holiday Edition at R. House to eat some tasty food and finish up my shopping. I love surprising my friends and family with Baltimore local gifts. That evening I’m super excited to attend the GalPal Holiday Party. Can’t wait to see all the ladies out in their holiday best!

We’ll be highlighting your favorite local Baltimore creatives, makers, and get sh*t done-ers. How do you get involved? We’re asking you to tag #creativesbehindTBC on your posts on Instagram of the Baltimore creative whose story inspires you and who makes this city brighter. “I wanna share my story. Can I tag a photo of myself?” Hell yeah you can! Our goal is to bridge the gap between social media and our big bad beautiful city by sharing the stories behind the folks who call Baltimore home. Submissions will be open until 11/28 and the unveiling of the new wall will be on Thursday, 12/13.

Neville Jacobs
8PM – 1:30AM
The 8×10
10 E Cross St, Baltimore
Neville Jacobs is the convergence of two well-worn paths of two diverse and singular artists. This unlikely connection between Ivan Neville of New Orleans’ first family of funk’s deep musical bloodline, and Cris Jacobs, the eclectic and soulful Baltimore-bred bandleader and songwriter, began at an even unlikelier place. When the stars finally aligned, the undeniable synergy between the two created a fresh and timeless sound – equal parts soulful, funky, sweet, and dirty. This batch of well crafted songs, with some written by Ivan, some by Cris, and several co-written by the two, feature their two distinct voices and grooves complimenting the other perfectly. This first chapter of Neville Jacobs is the beginning of what is sure to be a long lasting and fruitful collaboration between two truly unique talents.

Objects of Desire | Amy Boone-McCreesh and Jess Hammer
7PM – 10PM
Terrault
218 W. Saratoga St. 3rd Floor, Baltimore
“Objects of Desire” is a site-specific installation featuring new works by Baltimore based artist Amy Boone-McCreesh. The work in this exhibition considers the commodification of beauty; often operating as a signifier of culture and taste while widening social and economic gaps. Visual markers of taste in architecture, design, and history are utilized to poke at conceptions of luxury in Western culture. The collection of sculptural mixed media works on paper draw from domesticity and maximalist color palettes, operating somewhere between textiles, drawing, and collage. Boone-McCreesh also partnered with designer and stylist Jess Hammer to collaboratively create a series of pendant lights and to transform the gallery space.
Opening Reception: Saturday, December 15th 7-10PM

45 W Preston St, Baltimore
Baltimore’s award-winning and favorite tradition, The Rocky Horror Show, returns with a holiday mashup like you’ve never seen before! Experience this quintessential queer theatrical experience live on stage – complete with call-outs, cascading toilet paper, and an array of other audience participation props included with every ticket purchased. At the same time, you’ll be helping us to raise funds for Baltimore’s Moveable Feast – providing nutritious meals to those most in need – just in time for the winter holidays! In this cult classic film turned live stage musical, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, seek shelter at a mysterious old castle on a dark and stormy night, where they encounter transvestite scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Dr. Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” This deliberately kitschy rock ‘n’ roll sci-fi gothic thriller is more festive and outrageous than ever!
