Hi friends! December is kicking my butt. This post is coming to you after many brunch drinks at the DiscoverCharmCity Gal Pal Christmas Party. I can’t believe Christmas is almost here. I need an extra week to prepare. I’m trying to keep it kind of lowkey this week so I can get my life in order. On Thursday I’m going to a wine tasting at The French Paradox Wines. Should be a good time and a great opportunity to buy some last minute beverage gifts. On Friday I’m getting my hair done, very important. On Saturday I’m going to The Feast of the Seven Fishes at Schola. One of my favorite holiday traditions. On Sunday I’m off to Georgia for Christmas with the inlaws. PizzaQuest’s kickoff session in Baltimore! This session will be Canton/Fells Point centric and target 3 heavy weights in the city. He has now formed a non-profit in Baltimore to provide jiu-jitsu and yoga to the youth that cannot afford the training. The Foreigner is a fun, two-act comedy by American playwright Larry Shue. The story takes place in a fishing lodge in rural Tilghman County, Georgia where two Englishmen, Froggy and Charlie, arrive as guests. The shy Charlie agreed to accompany Froggy on the trip after his sick wife begged him to go. When people at the lodge try to talk to Charlie, however, he remains silent: he is terribly shy, depressed about his wife’s illness, and cannot find the words to reply. Froggy claims that Charlie cannot talk because he is a “foreigner” from an exotic country, and does not understand English. Taking the explanation that he’s a non-English speaker as fact, the lodge’s guests quickly begin revealing their secrets, and Charlie soon discovers scandals amongst some of the residents of the lodge. Set against a backdrop of white supremacy and the KKK, who work to take control of the lodge and remove the “Foreigner” this comedy allows us to confront the xenophobia and racism still present today.

The story takes place in a fishing lodge in rural Tilghman County, Georgia where two Englishmen, Froggy and Charlie, arrive as guests. The shy Charlie agreed to accompany Froggy on the trip after his sick wife begged him to go. When people at the lodge try to talk to Charlie, however, he remains silent: he is terribly shy, depressed about his wife’s illness, and cannot find the words to reply. Froggy claims that Charlie cannot talk because he is a “foreigner” from an exotic country, and does not understand English. Taking the explanation that he’s a non-English speaker as fact, the lodge’s guests quickly begin revealing their secrets, and Charlie soon discovers scandals amongst some of the residents of the lodge. Set against a backdrop of white supremacy and the KKK, who work to take control of the lodge and remove the “Foreigner” this comedy allows us to confront the xenophobia and racism still present today.
