Free Improv Class
7PM – 9PM
The Crown
1910 N Charles St, Baltimore
Improv is the art form used by Tina Fey, Key & Peele, Will Ferrell and countless others to create their comedy. Improv is unscripted theatre and it is contingent upon moment-to-moment discovery and flexibility. It is often comedic, but not always. It has an excellent philosophy behind it: yes and. “Yes” is about embracing the situation you are given. “And” is about capitalizing on your given circumstance. Improv relies heavily on “if, then” styles of thinking, and encourages performers to embrace spontaneity and their intuition. It is also happens to be crazy fun! There’s absolutely no cost, just show up! Anyone can do it even if you don’t consider yourself a “funny” person. Bring a friend! Bring two! The more the merrier! Like a drop-in yoga class, every class will focus on a different theme.

Pass Away, Living Room, Interstate Rivals, The Neckbeards

The Sidebar
218 E Lexington St, Baltimore
Interstate Rivals are a post-ska/punk band formed in 2008 in a Beltsville, Maryland basement. After amicably parting ways with a horn section over the years, Jesse, Kevin, and Adam strove to continue rocking with a name-change, playing as a 3-piece all over the DC and Baltimore area.
Pass Away – Record Release Tour! 3 dudes who play punk rock and don’t really give a shit about anything. Members of I am the Avalanche and Crime in Stereo
Living Room is a quartet of decade-old friends from Brooklyn, NY, and have played music together since 2010. Pointing to the musical guidance of late ’90s and early aughts acts, the band injects a distinctly fresh perspective, heaviness, and mysticism to the genre.
The Neckbeards Tommy Summerville and Nathan Leek started playing together 7 years ago as a power duo. That power duo turned into a full band so they started another power duo called The Neckbeards. They play emo.

Feral Woman presents In Threes!
Aug 2-12, TR-Sun 8PM – 9:30PM
The Mercury Theater
1823 N Charles St, Baltimore
Adapted from Joy William’s novel, The Quick and the Dead, In Threes follows a trio of motherless girls who find the lines between life and death blurrier than imagined. In the height of a desert summer, anarchic Alice throws herself into environmental activism; quiet Corvus communes with nursing home patients; and dear Annabel desperately tries to behave like a typical teen. Thrust together, they explore signs and portents along with an ensemble of wonderfully perverse characters, including a stroke survivor with a monkey (in his head), a widower who cannot escape his dead wife’s wrath, and the pragmatic Emily Bliss Pickless, a very mature eight. At once uncannily funny and deadly serious, the play confronts the audience with a world in which the dead are forever interfering with the living, and the living–through memory, action, or inaction–must choose their relationship to the dead.

We’re turning 5, and normally birthdays aren’t our thing, but this is kind of a big one for us. We’d love to party with you, so we’re throwing this all-you-can-eat outdoor lot party. In addition to some grub by us, like Pork Buns, Fried Dumplings, K-BBQ Cheesesteaks, & some vegan/gf things, we’ll also have tacos by Cocina Luchadoras, spicy noodles by PekoPeko Ramen, doughnuts by Sundays, and ice cream from Taharka Brothers. There’ll be a cash bar, thanks to our crew from Sugarvale. DJ Mark Brown & Sad Eyes will be rockin’ the tunes. Last but not least, shout out to Historic Charles Street Association as our co-host for this summer fête.
