Things to in Baltimore this week 9/2/19

Hi friends! This one is coming to you while I’m at the beach. I hope you are enjoying those last moments of summer and if you are done with summer and ready for fall I hear you can already get a Pumpkin Spice Latte. The weather is still good this week and there a lots of outdoor concerts and activities to enjoy. Theatre seasons are rolling out their opening shows. I’m seeing Proof by David Auburn at Everyman Theatre on Friday. It’s sold out, sorry, but you have lots of opportunities to go see it! The rest of my week is CRAZY BUSY with work so you probably won’t see much of me. Have fun!

Annex is our favorite time of the month. We become family, audience and artist alike. We hope to continue to grow as a safe space for artist to express their song and word. Keith Calhoun and Chandra McCormick’s poignant photographs and videos, on view through October 27 in Slavery, The Prison Industrial Complex, shed light on the exploitative practices of the Louisiana State Penitentiary known as Angola. It’s time for our next guest chefs dinner! This time we are going to welcome Chef Kevin Brothers from Savor Chefs Baltimore into our kitchen!! Chef Brothers is a good friend of ours and is also a forager! So we thought it would be fun to do an all mushrooms dinner featuring mushrooms from local farms as well as foraged wild ones! Chef Chris Amendola, will prepare 5 mushroom dishes and Chef Kevin will prepare 5 dishes. The Original Poe Grave Ghost Tour

Poe’s Magic Theatre is conducing ghost tours from The Lord Baltimore Hotel to the Westminster Burying Grounds at the corner of Greene & Fayette. Tours will start in the lobby of the hotel. Get there early and have dinner at the LB Tavern before the tour begins. The Burying Grounds are only a 10 minute walk away. Each tour will start with ghost stories and history of the Lord Baltimore Hotel and the we will begin our trek to the Burying Grounds. Along the way we will learn the Haunted History of Baltimore. Some tours may be hosted by a special guest host! We will always have an experienced ghost tour guide for hosting duties.
